We have added two new plans so far this year, both are Medicare Advantage Plans:

UMPM – was effective on 01-01-2020 – UPMC for Life is a Pittsburgh-based Medicare Advantage Plan.  Due to the high population of Medicare patients that travel to Arizona for the winter, UPMC has implemented a benefit for their Enrollees so that they can get access to the “no – hassle, home-away-from- home” coverage they need while enjoying their time in Arizona.  UPMIC offers fast, adequate claims reimbursement which typically pay within 10 working business days.  Reimbursement for HMO and PPO is 100% of Medicare Current (100% of Medicare Fee Schedule with no sequestration. An effective reimbursement rate of 102% of Medicare)

AZ Care Health Plans – Will be effective on 1-01-2021 – ASPA has partnered with AKOS MD IPA to provide services to their contracted plans, one being AZ Care Health Plan, an MA/MAPD plan effective on January 1, 2021. Reimbursement is based on Current Medicare:  Primary Care 115%; Mid-Level Health Professional 85%;  Specialist Physician  100%. To learn more about AZ Care, they will start hosting educational webinars in mid-June

ASPA Connected Community has had their MSSP contract extended through 2021!  Due to COVID-19 CMS made the decision to extend all the MSSP contracts of ACO’s across the board.  Our fingers are crossed we will again achieve savings for year 2019 (won’t know this until August or September) so far all looks positive.  Would love to hand out checks again in the fall!   We will keep you posted as we move forward.

Credentialing – Just an FYI, the AHCCCS contracts are holding our feet to the fire regarding time lines for credentialing.  All initial files must be completed within a tight window, so please when sending in applications make sure all the information requested is attached. If you are still pending any information such as Medicare ID or AHCCCS ID, please send us these as you get them.  The AHCCCS plans will not accept a provider if they are not registered with State AHCCCS.  This will delay your effective dates with Arizona Complete Health; Magellan; Banner University; Health Choice.
