It’s vital to understand how the drop in temperature can impact heart function and what steps we can take to mitigate these risks.

It’s essential to recognize and respond to signs of cardiac distress, especially in the winter when symptoms may be more pronounced due to the increased workload on the heart. Symptoms may include:

  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Chest pain or tightness
  • Extreme fatigue or weakness
  • Persistent cough or wheezing
  • Swelling in the legs, ankles, or feet
  • Rapid or irregular heartbeat

If experiencing signs or symptoms of cardiac issues, seek medical treatment immediately.
