Dear ASPA Member,

The Arizona State Physicians Association (ASPA) is collaborating with Navis Clinical Laboratories® on a research study evaluating the role of laboratory-based polypharmacy testing in medication adherence, reconciliation and patient safety. We are seeking ASPA members to participate in this study to contribute to research intended for peer-reviewed publication.

Navis Clinical Laboratories has developed a proprietary polypharmacy test that provides objective information about prescription and over-the-counter medication exposure. The study will examine medication discrepancies identified through testing, including prescribed medications that are not detected, medications detected but not documented on the patient’s medication list and medication-related findings that may warrant clinical review, such as drug-drug interactions or contraindications.

Participating physicians will identify clinically appropriate patients and follow them over time to evaluate whether medication discrepancies improve following intervention. All testing and clinical decision-making remain at the discretion of the treating provider.

ASPA and Navis Clinical Laboratories plan to co-author the study, with the goal of submitting the findings for publication in a peer-reviewed medical or scientific journal.

We ask that a practice administrator contact us at ASPAStudy@navisclinical.com for additional information. You may also visit navisclinical.com/ASPAStudy for the full study summary.

We appreciate your consideration and your continued commitment to advancing patient care through physician-led research.
